Brief History

Steinberg Asset Management, LLC, is an independent investment advisory firm founded in 1982 by Michael A. Steinberg as a value equity research boutique. The firm quickly evolved into an asset management firm specializing in the research of and investment in businesses with extraordinary risk/reward investment profiles. Today, the firm manages over $1.8 billion in small-cap value, smid-cap value, mid-cap value, and all-cap value equity portfolios for institutions and high net-worth individuals.

For three decades, SAM has employed a bottom-up, fundamental research approach. This approach, carried out by a dedicated team of investment professionals exercising sound judgment, serves as the foundation for the value equity strategies offered by the firm.
